Surfing in Portugal
I’ve just been reading through the latest surfer magazine and there’s an article on Portugal. It took me back about 5 years when I passed through for about 2 weeks and scored some really great waves. And uncrowded to. In one spot there was just me and the guy I was traveling with surfing perfect waves. I won’t give away any of the locations as we had to find them ourselves…
Check out some of the pictures from the portugal leg of our trip below.

Thank you for your great photos of the E Spot in Portugal! I surfed there back in 1975, before legropes… beautiful memories of the friendliest people I met in Europe! Apart from that one well know break, I didn’t see any other surfers in my 3 weeks passing through, always solo. One day 100 people gathered on the clifftop outside the local taverna cheering me on as I caught a few waves. When I came out of the icy cold water at least 50 people ran down along the beach to look at me and my surfboard, and poured bagaso over my chest and down my throat to warm me up! I can thoroughly recommend a trip to Portugal to all surfers. It’s great to know that 30 years later there are still perfect uncrowded days there! Obrigado!

Hey Peter,
I must say portugal is one of my favourite places for surfing. Got some insane waves and the people are very friendly. Will have to go back there one day soon.
