In case you missed it, Rip Curl have announced their location for the 2007 competition which was held “somewhere in Mexico” last year with great waves. The new location is Arica in Chile at a wave called El Gringo. Arica is used to holding surfing competitions which the Arica Chilean Challenge (Bodyboarding comp) being held there for the last 3 years, and you can see from the video below they do get some great waves:
